Summer Ball Raises Cash for Local Hospice

THE first Summer Ball to be held by the Club & Spa at Hoole Hall was a great success raising over £600 for The Hospice of The Good Shepherd.

Club and Spa members and staff teamed together for the spectacular summertime event held on Friday, June 11 to enjoy good food and drink followed by an evening of dancing to live music from ‘Citizen’, who kept everyone on the dance floor all night.

Local companies donated prizes to be auctioned at the charity raffle including: Hickory’s Smoke House; Blue Planet Aquarium; Aaron & Partners Solicitors, Crocky Trail; Chester Boat Trips; Pryors Hayes Golf Club and of course the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar & Grill at Doubletree by Hilton Chester.

Alice Cox Sales and Marketing Manager says: “We had a fantastic day and raised some much needed cash for the hospice.

“The Hospice of the Good Shepherd is a vital part of the local community providing an invaluable service.

“We have more fundraising events planned over the next year and we have pledged to raise £6,000.”

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides specialised care to people in the Cheshire and Flintshire community who are suffering from incurable illness.

All of the services are completely free to patients so the hospice relies heavily on support from businesses in the local area.

Amanda Le-Bretton, fundraising and marketing manager for the hospice says: “We attended the Summer Ball and had a fantastic time.

“We are thrilled with the amount raised at the event and encourage other Cheshire businesses to get involved with fundraising events.”

The next Club and Spa at Hoole Hall charity event on the horizon is a charity fashion show in September. The event will show case the finest local boutiques, supporting small independent businesses in and around Cheshire and raising money for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.
