Spa Expert - Post Summer Skin Survival

It’s great to get a healthy glow over the summer months but it’s very important to take good care of your skin, especially after returning from a holiday in a sunny destination where your skin has received far more sun exposure than usual.

Stephanie McDonnell, the newly appointed Spa Manager of the Spa at Hoole Hall is a skincare expert, and here she gives three very important tips for looking after skin following a sunshine break.

1. Drink lots of water The sun has a very drying effect; by drinking lots of water you skin is hydrated from the inside to outside which is extremely effective

2. Moisturise lots To prolong a tan a lot of moisturising is needed, I would recommend at least twice a day with a rich nourishing cream. Whilst on holiday a good sunscreen is essential to avoid premature skin aging and burning.

3. Exfoliate Peeling can be a big problem following a visit to a hot destination. Exfoliate often whilst on holiday and when you return home to get rid of dead skin, reducing the chance of peeling.
